Camping Coolness | FieldCandy

Honestly, until now camping sounded like hell on earth [it may still be ;)], BUT just look at these beauties to spice up a camp site and be the talk of camp town! From FieldCandy [awesome name] there are just so many designs, I could not show you all of them. As usual just a few of my fav. Take a look at the designers section as there are a few heavy weights contributing. So clever and at a cost of around $445-495 each!

Pen Colour Sensor | Product Design

Not sure if this pen is ever going to see the light of day, but it's a fantastic idea. Basically, it's a pen that you hold up against anything, it reads the colour and proceeds to create the ink allowing you to draw in the colour it sensed...make sense? Check it's been in the pipeline for years..where is it? I can't even ascertain the original source of the idea?

Wowness | Young Talent Alert

This video was posted on YouTube on the 13 Feb'12, the singer is James Anderson and incredibly he is 13. He is singing Whitney Houston's song "I have nothing". Simply awesome talent! This guy has gone viral and I am sure will be a star.

Customised Toy Coolness

I recently came across a company called Child's Own Studio and the concept is utterly cool. It's the brainchild of a woman called Wendy Tsao. What she basically does is creates customised authentic toys from your child's artwork. So in my mind, she really creates your child's best soft toy friend! She is based in Canada but it seems, if you mail her she may be able to deliver all the way down here in SA. Instead of attempting to explain her brilliance, look at the images below [and others here]. They will tell you all you need to know!

The Future...and a little clever marketing

Corning Gorilla Glass, surprisingly manufactures glass and they happen to be pretty clever. Getting people excited about your product is one thing but getting them excited by brilliantly designing the future with it...clever. They made two 'futuristic videos' the first, clocked around 17 million views on You Tube. The second [see below] is, in my mind even better, as it gives some indication of how a tech future looks in education and how far we actually are from that sort of living. Enjoy!

Cardboard Fashion | Art

Totally loved these when I came across them and had to share. Photographer Christian Tagliavini created beautiful period costumes out of card in his project Dame di Cartone or cardboard ladies. The way the images are styled is also super cool. Brings a whole new look to recycling ;).
